Spreading the message of God’s love throughout the world!
“You shall be witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”
Acts 1:8
When God said we are to love one another, this includes those in the world who don’t know Him. The goal of the Missions Team is to involve CrossPointe's people in the missions ministry through prayer, contact, and financial support which makes mission work possible. The team supports a vision to make a difference for Christ on an individual and community level and to help plant new churches worldwide.
What the team does:
▪ We work with missionaries to strengthen and grow churches around the world
▪ Our team maintains a close relationship with each missionary and their family
▪ We pray for each missionary and their work
▪ We seek to build relationships through correspondence, personal visitation at our church and possibly through contact in the field
▪ Have missionaries share their vision of ministry whenever they are here
What the People of CrossPointe do:
▪ Experience short-term mission trips
▪ Consider world wide missions as a career
▪ Become educated on the why, what and how of missions
▪ Publicize missions through interviews, email, newsletters, etc.
Goals of CrossPointe’s Missions Ministry
▪ To help every person at CrossPointe become more involved in and aware of world wide ministries.
▪ To use budget money wisely in many areas of need, such as foreign missions, U.S. missions, college helps, inner city and throughout the world
▪ To plan and implement Adult Education classes about biblical missionaries, famous missionaries and those supported by CrossPointe Church

SOUP KITCHEN MINISTRY
The Austin Baptist Chapel (ABC) operates the “Soup Kitchen” at 908 E. Cesar Chavez, Austin, TX. A hot lunch meal is served from 11 AM to 12:30 PM every day except Christmas and Thanksgiving. CrossPointe volunteers normally serve the 1st Saturday of each month with 5-6 volunteers.
The ABC mission is to live out the teachings of the Bible, God’s Holy Word. ABC’s goal is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ at all times using words when necessary. ABC recognizes each person as God’s creation and seek to minister to all people without discrimination. For a more detailed look at this ministry please log onto www.angelhouse-abc.com
CrossPointe volunteers meet on the first Saturday morning of each month at CrossPointe and depart for the Soup Kitchen at 9:45 AM by carpool (due to limited parking) and return not later than 1:15 PM. We arrive at 10:15 to finish any last minute light preparations (making sandwiches, dipping up desserts, etc.). We fill trays with food and serve a cafeteria style lunch from 11 AM-12:30 PM. From 12:30-12:45 PM we do a light clean up.
The ABC Soup Kitchen served 140,000 meals last year, a 25 year high. The Soup Kitchen also delivered over 10,000 food boxes to 4 church food pantries around Austin. The ABC “Soup Kitchen” ministry receives funds by individuals and churches with a passion for missions in the local area. A devotional and prayer is offered each day and on Sunday morning as church service takes place. A weekday Bible study is also conducted.
This ministry opportunity is great for families (minimum age 10), singles, seniors, or anyone with a servant heart.
