Senior Pastor

Steve and Heather moved to Austin in 2013 from Tuscaloosa, AL. Prior to serving at CrossPointe he was an assistant pastor for 10 years and also served on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ for 18 years. They have four children. Steve enjoys watching college sports, playing basketball, cooking out, and spending time with people. Heather is a schoolteacher and loves watching college football, reading, and having people into their home.

Matt Southerland

Associate Pastor

Matt and Bonnie are from Fort Worth, Texas, and have lived in central Texas for the last 19 years. Bonnie taught 6th grade for 7 years and is now taking some time off to raise their children: Cole (8), Forrest (6), and Asher (2). Matt has been on staff at CrossPointe since finishing at Redeemer Seminary in May of 2015. Matt and Bonnie love the outdoors, reading, and time spent with friends.

Brandon Flynn

Director of Music and Discipleship

Before coming to Crosspointe, Brandon taught upper school Bible, Theology, and Greek for five years in Georgetown after graduating from Covenant Seminary in 2015. His wife Anna teaches piano lessons and cares for their three boys during the day: Simeon, Micaiah, and Peter. Brandon loves music, soccer, cooking, Biblical studies, ancient languages, learning, teaching, and the blessing of love and laughter in their family.

Michele Samuelson

Children's Ministry Director

Michele came to Austin after attending the University of North Texas, and brings an enthusiasm for education to the children's ministry program at CrossPointe. She is an avid baseball fan, but also enjoys road trips, reading and watching old movies, and writing in her spare time. Michele and her husband Randy have been married since 2007 and have two children, Annalise and James.

Janet Tate

Office Manager

Janet has lived in Austin since 1996 and has three grown children. She started and ran Cornerstone Mother's Day Out from 2009–2023. She has been doing administrative work at the church since 2013.
